You know, I think with pet names you just have to push through the initial spin-up time where the name doesn't fit right. For both of my cats (Binky, Strelnikov) the initially cute names seemed like bad mistakes by day 2, but by week 3 I couldn't imagine either little guy being named anything else.
I named my cat Lady Catherine de Burgh but only strangers call her that. I call her only "the baby kitten".
